It is found all round the coast but is les common in the
Northeast.

It grows on sand and shingle by the sea.
Sea-holly is a native, spiny, blue-grey herb growing into
shrubs up to 80cm.
Flowerheads are are up to 2.5cm, with numerous small
flowers supported by a whorl of sharp bracts.
Leaves are xerophyllic, spiny and light blue-grey.
