Native Red Clover is common in grassland and waste
ground.
Cultivated forms are widely sown.
Red Clover is a nitrogen-fixing, native, perennial herb
growing up to 60cm.
Flowers are not red. They are pink and purple.
Flowerheads are up to 4cm across, made up of tightly
clustered individual flowers, which are up to 15 mm
across.
The trefoil leaves have white crescents.
Stipules have and bristle-like points.
