It grow on neutral and acid soils in open woodland,
meadows, grassy heathland, hedge banks and by
footpaths and tracks.
Lesser Stitchwort is a slender, native, perennial herb
growing up to 80cm.
Flowers are in loose, angled flowerheads.
Flowers are up to 12mm across with 5 deeply cleft
white petals, 5 sepals, 10 stamens with purple anthers
and 3 linear styles.
Upper leaves are rather small and stem leaves are
opposite and lanceolate - up to 4cm.
