It is found throughout the country.

It grows on calcareous soils in hedges, grassy places,
waste ground and scrub, and by roads, railways and
paths.
Hedge Bedstraw is a native, sprawling, clambering,
stoloniferous, perennial herb, growing up to 1.5m.
Flowers are in large, extensive clusters.
Each flower is up to 5mm across with 4 white, pointed
petals, 4 stamens and 2 styles.
Leaves are in whorls of 6-8, slightly oval, with a smal
l terminal point.
Stems are 4 angled and easily broken.
