It is found throughout the country.

It grows in open woodland, grassland and waste ground,
on hedgebanks and banks, and by roads, paths and
railways.
Creeping Cinquefoil is a native, perennial , stoloniferous,
spreading prostrate herb.
The 5-merous, yellow flowers are up to 2.5cm, yellow and
on longish stems.
The sepals are pointed with fewer extensions than in
Silverweed.
Leaves are palmate and the leaflets are toothed.
It reproduces by seed and spreads rapidly by runners
(stolons), which root at the nodes, sometimes 1m or
more from the main plant.
