It is found throughout the country.

It grows on land, but in wet habitats, such as, on the banks
of lakes, ponds, rivers and streams, and in marshland.
Occasionally it grows as submerged patches or as floating
rafts.
Water Forget-me-not is a native, stoloniferous or
rhizomatous, perennial herb, growing up to 70cm.
Flowers are bright, sky-blue or sometimes pink, up to
13mm.
There are white honey guides, a yellow eye and a
long style.
There are 5 stamens.
Flowers are flat with petals longer than the pointed
sepals.
Leaves are oblong-lanceolate, up to 7cm, and
sometimes with hairs.
Leaves are deeper green and more glossy in wetter
habitats.
Stems are slightly angled.
