It grows in hedges, wood and field margins, rough
grassland and alongside paths and roads.
Upright Hedge-parsley is an annual, native, herb
growing up to 2m.
It is the third white hedgerow umbillifer to flower,
following on from Cow Parsley and Rough Chervil.
Flowers are in umbels and are white or mauve.
The outer flowers are larger with slightly uneven petals.
There are 5 stamens and 2 styles.
There are 4 to 6 uneven bracts and several bracteoles.
Fruits are up to 4mm with curved spines.
Leaves are grey-green and pinnate.
Stems are stiffer than in Cow Parsley and very hairy.
