Habitat

It grows by tracks and roads, in grassland and hedgerows,

and on hedge banks and waste ground.

Description

Stone Parsley is a native, perennial herb growing up to

1m.

The small flowers are in umbels up to 4cm across, which

are well separated on a compound umbel and have long

stalks of different lengths.

There are 2 bracts and up to 4 small bracteoles.

Flowers are small at up to 3mm.

There are 5 notched petals, 5 stamens and 2 short

styles.

There are no sepals.

Fruits are globular and ridged with the styles persisting.

The upper leaves are linear.

Lower leaves are up to 20cm and pinnate.

Leaflets are oval to lanceolate and serrate. The teeth

have forward curving points.

Stems are solid and striated.
