March to October and year round during mild winters.
It grows in the Northwest, the west Midlands and central
southern counties.

It is a neophyte and a garden escape since the 1730s.
Iit is naturalised in hedges, wasteland and brownfield sites,
and by paths and roads.
Spotted Dead-nettle is a perennial, smelly herb that
spreads using rhizomes and stolons to form patches,
and grows up to 39cm.
Flowers are deep pink.
Leaves are a dark, mat green and heart-shaped with
a distinct white stripe.
