It grows in woods and on cliffs, rock outcrops, waste
ground and by railways.
Rowan is a native small to medium-sized tree, growing
up to 18m.
Flowers are white, in a flowerhead, 5 petalled and with
numerous cream stamens (darkening later).
Berries are bright orange-red.
Leaves are alternate and pinnate with lanceolate,
toothed leaflets.
