It grows on sea cliffs, rocks and shingle, sea walls
and sea defences.
Rock Samphire is a native, fleshy, perennial herb
growing up to 30cm.
Flowers are 2mm, yellow-green and in umbels up
to 6cm.
Umbels and secondary umbels have rosettes of
lanceolate, pointed bracts and bracteoles.
Leaves are pinately branched with fleshy, succulant
lobes.
The leaves have traditionally been collected and
pickled.
