Native Raspberry grows in open woodland, scrub,
heathland and hedgerows.
The garden escape is also found on waste land.
Raspberry is a native shrub that grows up to 2m.
Flowers are small (up to 11mm across), with 5 dull
white petals.
Leaves are trefoils and downy below.
Fruits are very tasty and it is a widespread garden and
commercial crop.
It spreads by bird-dispersed fruit, and by suckering.
It can form extensive patches on waste ground.
