It is found in marshes, fens, wet meadows and grassland.
Ragged Robin is a native, perennial herb growing up to
75cm.
The flowers, pink to rose-red and up to 4cm across, have a
raggedy, unfinished appearance.
The petals are cleft into 4 unequal lobes.
The calyx-tube, and subsequently the seed capsule, is
bladder-like and has 10 distinct veins.
Leaves are grass-like.
Ragged Robin disappears when grassland is 'improved'.
