It is common throughout the country, but slightly less so in
the Northeast and far Southwest.

IIt is a neophyte, which was introduced into the UK in the
1680s and recognised in the wild by the early 1900s.
It is a widely planted tree along roads and in gardens,
parks and public amenity areas.
It is naturalised in woods, grassland, waste areas and
brownfield sites.
Norway maple grows up to 30m.
It has large, palmate, pointed leaves.
The conspicuous yellow-green flowers are small and in
erect clusters.
They stand out in woods as they appear before the leaves
of most species of woodland tree.
The seeds are winged (keys).
