It is found mainly on the western side of the country,
especially in the Southwest

It grows on walls, in cracks on rocks, quarries and
buildings, and on stony banks.
In Cornwall and the Scillies, it is an epiphyte on trees.
Navelwort is a native, perennial herb, growing up to
50cm.
The flowers are greenish or pinkish white, drooping
tubes up to 1cm in length.
They are on an erect flower spike with small scales.
The flower is 5-merous with 5 short styles and 10
stamens.
Leaves are in a short, stalked, basal rosette.
They are fused together to appear round and have a
central dimple.
They can be up to 7cm across, but are usually much
smaller.
