Hairy Bitter-cress is a winter annual that flowers
from February to November.
In mild winters it flowers throughout the year.
It is found everywhere.

It is a very common plant wherever there is bare soil.
It is often the first weed to appear in dug gardens and
on cleared ground.
It will also grow on rocky outcrops, in cracks in pavements
and at the bottom of walls.
Hairy Bitter-cress is a small plant that usually grows to
about 10cm, although it can reach 30cm.
The first thing you see is the characteristic basal rosette
of leaves.
Flowers are white, small (2-3mm) and with 4 stamens.
The seed pods are cylindrical and overtop the flowerheads.
