It is found allround the coast except for parts of the
far Southwest.
It is found inland on the eastern side of the country.

It grows near the sea in saltmarsh drift-lines and on
estuarine banks.
Since the 1980s it has been spreading inland alongside
salted road verges,
Grass-leaved Orache is a native, annual herb, growing
up to 1.5m.
The small male and female flowers are on flower spikes.
Leaves are lanceolate and some are toothed.
The mid-ribs are opaque.
