It is founfd patchily round the coast in parts of East Anglia, the
Southeast, the South and the Southwest.

It grows on calcareous, sea cliffs, rocks and grassland.
In the Southeast it grows on saltmarshes.
Golden-samphire is a native, fleshy, perennial herb, growing up
to 1m.
Flowerheads are up to 2.5cm.
Outer florets are golden yellow and inner florets orange yellow.
Leaves are fleshy, linear, up to 6cm, and inserted all the way
up the stem.
The stem is both fleshy and woody.
The whole plant is quite bushy and dominant in bare rocky
maritime places.
