It is a neophyte which has been widely planted as a spring
bulb since the 1880s, but has been naturalised only since
the 1960s.
It is found in waste-land, churchyards and by paths and
roads.
Glory of the Snow is a bulbous, perennial herb.
Flowers are star-shaped, ranging from blue to pale mauve,
with white centres and white stamens.
It has thin, dark-green leaves.
