It is found throughout the country.
The various species and varieties may be common or
absent from different areas.

It grow mainlys in shortish grass in permanent grasslands.
Eyebrights comprise a group of small, hemiparasitic, native
annuals, growing on the roots of a range of herbs and
small shrubs.
They are difficult to tell apart, so here they are presented
by habitat and location.
They are frequently prostrate, but can grow up to 50cm
in longer grassland.
Flowers range from 5 to 10mm across.
Petals are white to violet to purple with dark nectar guides
and a yellow mark.
Petal length varies, as does the depth of the lobes.
The leaves are small and spiky and vary from light to dark
green, sometimes with a bronze sheen.
