It sometimes grows by lowland streams.
The pictures shown were taken close to the River Lune at
Lancaster.
Chickweed Willowherb is a native, montane, quite short,
perennial herb, growing up to 25cm.
Flowers are blueish-red, slightly drooping and with a
4-lobed stigma.
Leaves are ovate to pointed, slightly toothed, bluey-green
and opposite.
It spreads by stolons.
